barrenness, the mineral laden soil is very fertile
producing fine wine which you will be able to
sample. At Goreme
the rock hewn churches are a must see for any
visitor. You will explore the miles of tunnels,
which for centuries used to house tens of thousands
of people. Now erosion has started to reveal these
hidden habitats taking on the appearance of giant
honeycombs. At Avanos,
famous for its pottery, try your hand at creating
a work of art at the potter's wheel and in the
wildly beautiful Ihlara
Valley you can take an adventurous journey
to visit the vividly painted Byzantine
churches carved from the rock.
